Remember your mother insisting, “Sit up straight”?  Besides placating your parents, was there any reason to take the curve out of your spine?  Perhaps the benefits of good posture have been overlooked for a long time.  In 1934, four orthopedic surgeons co-authored Essentials of Body Mechanics.  I find that this information and advice is just as true today as it was when the book was first published.  Yes, your mother knew that good posture is the foundation of good health.
